The Siblings (Private)

Maddie sat on her bunk playing with her purple kangaroo. She made him dance, bored out of her little mind. She was too young and small to do most training exercises like the older kids. Maddie huffed and fell back on her bed, shoving Haru in her face. He smelled like vanilla.

Jason walked into the cabin, wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts. He had a volleyball in one arm and his clipboard in the other. He looked over and saw Maddie with her pet kangaroo which I may or may not have accidentally approved because it's technically an exotic pet oops. "Hi, Maddie," he said in a cheerful way.

Maddie sat upright quickly. "Jason!" She gave him a toothy grin. She was missing two. Her eyes flicked to the volleyball and back to his face. "What are you doing?"

"Well, I was stopping by to get changed for the beach. What are you doing?" he asked, grabbing his swimming trunks.

"Being bored but.. Can I go with you??" She begged. She kneeled on her bed and put her hands together, begging with big, gray puppydog eyes.

"Sure. You want a piggy back ride, the usual?" he asked with a smile. "You should probably get in your beach clothes, though."

Maddie hopped up and grabbed her suit, rushing Into the bathroom. She'd have to leave Haru there. She didn't want him getting wet. Maddie Burst out in her purple one piece -she liked purple. "Lets goooo!!!"

Jason changed in the male bathrooms, and nodded at her. "Alright, let's go." He smiled, starting to walk toward the beach. "I like your purple bathing suit," he complimented her.

"Thank you!" She responded, very bubbly. "Where's my piggy Back ride?" She demanded. Jason was the only person she was like this with

"Sorry," Jason said with a smile, and lifted her up on his back. "Is that better?" he asked.

"Onward!" She shouted, pointing ahead of them. Many turned their head and stared at her shout. She really was something.

Jason laughed, continuing his way to the beach. "Can you swim, Maddie?"

"Kinda... Kinda not..." She shrugged.

"Do you think you'll need some help?"

"...Probably." She admitted, bouncing her legs on his shoulders

Jason nodded, and they arrived at the beach. He put his half-sister down onto the beach. It was packed with campers today, predominantly teens.

Anabella looked around at all the campers much taller than her. She scooted closer to Jason and grabbed his hand.

Jason held her hand, walking with her. "Do you know anyone here?" he asked his half-sister.

"Uhhhmm..." Maddie glanced around, looking at all the teens. "Uh.. No..."

"Who are your friends around camp, Maddie? Maybe we could find some here."

"I don't see any of them!" She huffed at him in frustration

"You don't? Well, who are they?"

"Well.. Casey.. And Melody.. But.." She shrugged, digging her feet into the sand

"Hmm, well we'll try to find them later. Do you want some icecream?"

Maddie brightened. "Yes!!"
