Sunny day (private)

Jason was at the beach, playing volleyball with a few other campers. He wore his blue swimming trunks and sandals, along with his sunglasses. Jason stood at 6'3", so he was pretty easy to spot out in the game. Once his game was done, he went over to concessions to grab a snowcone, when he realized he had kicked something by accident. Jason quickly looked down and saw it was a book. He picked it up and looked at the girl near him. "I'm sorry, let me clean it off for you."

Looks up at the person who kicked her book and she doesn't make eye contact with them, "I-its fine don't worry about it." She puts her hand out for her book. "C-can I just have my b-book back, p-please?"

Jason nodded and handed her the book. "Sorry again," he said. "I feel like I owe you something. Can I buy you a icecream or something?" he smiled at the girl. "I'm Jason, by the way."

Primrose takes her book and holds it closely, standing up pulling her hoodies hood over her colorful hair. "Y-you don't need to do anything.W-why don't you just g-go back to your games?"

"Well, I feel bad, but if you say so." Jason started to walk away, and towards the direction of the concessions stand.

Nods and sits back down, opening her book back up and going back to reading.

Jason grabbed himself a snowcone, peering back at the girl who's book he knocked over. He felt bad for her- she seemed lonely and a bit distant. Jason knew it'd be right to try and get her out of her comfort zone and try to help. Something Jason learned over the years was to never underestimate what a person's going through. He went back over. "Are you a daughter of Athena?"

She looks up, "What gave it away?" She gets up again and looks him in the eye this time.

"The intense focus on your book, the way it looks like your mind is running a thousand miles per hour. After being in camp for a while, it was a pretty easy guess." Jason grinned.

"I-I guess that makes it kinda obvious. Oh wait I know your name you dont know mine, Im Primrose." she fiddles with the pages of her books, "Who are you a child of?"

"I'm a son of Hecate. I'm actually the Cabin Leader for the Hecate cabin," he said with a smile. "Can I sit down?"

"Yea you can sit," moves to the side so he can sit down.

Jason sat down. "So, how long have you been in camp?"

"Ive been here about" pauses to think, "m-maybe six years? What about you"

"I've been here about five years. It's odd that we've overlapped here for five years and never met." He smiled. "I'm seventeen, I got here when I was twelve."

"Guess were the same age. I got here when i was 11." stares down at the ground.

"Oh, nice. Who's your friend group?"

"Um no friends just this" hold up her book for him to see.

Jason studied the book, feeling a bit of pity from Primrose. He looked at her in the eyes. "Well, do you want to meet some people? It'd probably be nice for you to have friends around."

"Oh uh im not very good with people especially meeting people."

"Well, I can help. At least I'd like to."

"Um sure i guess, if you can."

"OKay, do you want to meet some of my guy friends?" he asked. "You could play volleyball with us."

"Oh alright sure, I'm not the best at Volleyball though. Just an early warning"

"OKay, that's perfectly fine." Jason got up, extending his arm to help her up.
